Hello Beautiful Soul
I have exchanged the noise and clamour of the city for a very different environment. One in which my nervous system is beginning to reset. To step down from high alert. And re-member that it is safe.
I began to notice this on Friday morning. With my luggage loaded in my hire car I experienced the city in a whole new way. A way I hadn’t felt before. I had the distinct feeling of safety. This was a huge sigh of relief which was invigorating as I made my way slowly towards the Golden Gate Bridge.
I hadn’t realised how on edge I was until I was not. Highlighting ever more deeply the power of contrast that I spoke of last week.
After further contrasting experience travelling through ancient forested mountains and wetland coastal areas, I find myself here. Guided as always to where I am meant to be. High in the hills of Sonoma County.
To say it is quiet doesn’t do it justice. The insects’ individual hum is distinctive as they buzz through the air. And when a black vulture flew low overhead I could hear the soft thud of its ragged wings as they moved through the air. Pure magic!
It’s not to say that San Francisco isn’t safe. I wouldn’t like to give it a bad rap. Like so many spaces where there is a greater concentration of people, the energy is heightened. As are the extremes of living conditions.
If you are highly sensitive like me, you will know exactly what I mean. And as much as I know city living is not for me, I am grateful for the experience and for the experiences I had whilst I was there.
I am re-minded of the axiom from the Temple of Apollo at Delphi – know thyself. In knowing what you don’t want it clears the path to knowing what you do want and there is no greater gift than recognising where you are in alignment, on all levels, for it paves the way to co-creating the conditions in which your whole being naturally thrives.
Blessèd Be.
