Hola Beautiful Soul
I realised this afternoon that navigating life successfully is very much like driving in Baja... to stop yourself from being shaken to bits the only sane thing to do at times, is to take your hands off the wheel.
There are many unpaved roads here, and even the tarmacked ones often contain holes and unexpected topes. What we know as sleeping policemen in England. Unlike our sleeping plod however these ones can sneak up on you. Unannounced. And varying widely in height and depth. Low slung sportscars are few and far between.
I have discovered that it is essential to hold on to the wheel when driving when there is a lot of sand on the road. It’s like driving through snow in an English car. It has a mind of its own and you simply pray, whilst doing the best you can, that nothing will come the other way.
Sometimes – oftentimes these days – life can feel like we are on uneven ground. Let alone navigating unexpected snow or sand...
If we continue to hang on tightly because we are afraid we more often than not prolong our suffering. I certainly did that last week. And even though I knew all I had to do was let go, I couldn’t. I didn’t feel ready. Or able to. I needed to cling to what I knew, even though it was hurting me.
I still don’t know the answers to the conundrum that arose in my world. Yet I do know within my body that it will all work out. That it is working out already. I simply can’t see it yet from my human perspective. As a result, I feel incredibly Light and Free. My normal state of JoY has returned, and I am even finding certain aspects of my self imposed suffering funny.
This renewed and expansive state of spaciousness is the very thing that is creating movement forward, allowing ideas and inspiration to flow without any efforting at all.
It isn’t always easy being human. We know this all too well. Our invitation, over and over, is to recognise that we don’t know. That we don’t need to have it all figured out. That even if we think we are in control we are not. Life has a great way of re-minding us of that. So treat yourself and your life as lightly as you can and you will find that things flow more easily even when you are experiencing something you’d rather not...
Blessèd Be.
